Program Description

Be part of the very first community walk along the new Mission Creek Bridges Trail, a 4.0-mile route (one way) from Gutierrez Street to Oak Park. Walk near dozens of majestic Sycamore trees as you cross Mission Creek 19 times and learn about water quality and habitat improvements. We will also visit Old Mission Creek, the main creek channel prior to rerouting in the 1950s, explore the first and most recent restoration projects by the City’s Creeks Division, and see small and large storm water improvement projects. 

Logistics:

  • Sunday, May 18 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Meeting Location (10 am): Gutierrez Street Bridge (between De La Vina and Chapala)
  • This is a one-way trail. Walkers may arrange park a car at the end location, take a ride share back to the starting point, or take  a free shuttle (RSVP required through the Creeks Division by Monday May 12).
  • Parking:
    • Start: Street parking or City Lot 12 (Gutierrez & State St.)
    • End: Street parking near Oak Park(Tallant Rd. & Alamar)
  • Restrooms available mid-way and at Oak Park
  • Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water
