State Street Master Plan Progress Report

On Tuesday, September 17, City Council with receive a progress report for the State Street “Create State” Master Plan and provide direction on the recommended Grand Paseo design framework. City Council will also receive an update on a Short-Term Action Plan for the State Street Master Plan project area. The agenda, meeting materials, and public comment information are available on the City Council webpage.

The City Council item will include a discussion of the urban design framework for the 300-1300 blocks of State Street and a summary of the State Street Advisory Committee’s feedback to staff during their June 26th and July 15th meetings.

Staff will also present a Short-Term Action Plan for improvements to State Street as it is currently configured. The purpose of the Action Plan is to identify actions that can be completed in the next 6-12 months to improve State Street’s temporary configuration and move towards a configuration that is aligned with the framework of the State Street Master Plan. Actions included in the plan will enable experimentation and pilot programs aimed at supporting future decision making during this project development period.
