 rbara has many facilities that are old and in need of major improvement an
 d/or renovation. In addition, a lack of funding for streets, sidewalks, st
 orm drains, and other streets-related infrastructure has resulted in the d
 eterioration of these critical systems the community relies upon on a dail
 y basis.In November 2017, Santa Barbara residents approved Measure C – S
 anta Barbara Critical Infrastructure and Essential Community Services, whi
 ch provided a one-cent general purpose local sales transaction and use tax
 . Measure C, which became effective April 1, 2018, will generate an estima
 ted $22.0 Million per year and provide much needed funding for critical in
 frastructure, to address deferred maintenance of City facilities, and to r
 eplace the City's outdated and unsafe police station.
